There is something so basically therapeutic about human contact, and I think that’s part of what makes these two ladies so satisfying to watch. Our own hearts can feel a little more satisfied when we get visual reminders of that sort of intimate touch. Everyone loves a cuddle.

I am in even more admiration of these clips in the knowledge that Cate made them herself. It’s a pretty fascinating experience to edit oneself, and as far as self-conscious activities go, editing yourself masturbating is probably one of the most intensely personal things you can do. Well, in my opinion at least – Cate might have a different perspective on that.

Little feminine touches like a good manicure or a lacy bra add an extra bit of special to any IFM scene. Darcia seems to present a very neat femininity, and the experience she shares today is beautifully tidy. Barely a wrinkle left on the sheets.

When you are at the hand of another, riding that thin border between pain and pleasure is often a non-action – it’s just something that arises naturally from the situation. Being responsible for that balance yourself, however, is a much more complex thing, but Ingi has been practising that for some time and seems to have no difficulties at all.

Sometimes I feel like I’m engrossed in a David Attenborough documentary when watching IFM. I can just hear the comically enthusiastic narration about ‘the female of the species’ in her ‘natural habitat’. But if you think about it in terms of our animal nature, it’s not an outlandish analogy. Humans do interesting things for orgasms.

But there’s a bit more to this film than meets the eye, unless that eye always watches through the end titles – you never know what surprises we might have for you, so start making a habit of it if you don’t.
